He Uses AI to Research His Speaking Pipeline. He Still Pitches Himself.

The future workforce gives the digging to agents and keeps the handshake human. The relationship was never the part that needed automating.

Everyone on LinkedIn wants to tell you AI will do your outreach for you. I watch how people actually use agents inside their businesses, and the smartest ones are doing almost the opposite. Here is one I saw this morning.
The Grind Nobody Talks About
A financial advisor is out promoting a book. The goal is simple: get on stages and podcasts in front of the right audience. The work is not simple. Before you can write a single pitch, you have to find the events and shows worth pitching, figure out who runs them, and make sure they are still active. A surprising number of podcasts and speaking series quietly stop, and their pages go dark.
That research eats hours. For a busy owner, it is exactly the kind of work that gets pushed to next week, then the week after. And the pitches never go out.
What the Agent Does
He handed the grind to his agent. In one morning it brought back two batches of new leads:
- 4 new speaking organizations, found through web research
- 5 new podcast shows
- Every page checked live at the time of the search, so dead shows and dead links never made the list
- Every lead logged into his own speaking file and podcast pipeline
- Nothing pitched, nothing sent
That last line is the design, not a limitation. The agent is not allowed to pitch on his behalf. It finds, verifies and organizes. Then it stops and hands the list to him.

Why the Human Still Pitches
A pitch is not a data problem. It is a relationship. The host is deciding whether they want this person in front of their audience, and that decision is about voice, credibility and trust. A templated message from a bot is the fastest way to burn a lead the agent spent time verifying.
So he keeps the part only he can do. He reads the list, picks the shows that fit, and writes to the host himself, as himself. The agent made that possible by clearing away everything in front of it.
9 new speaking and podcast leads found and verified in one morning, with zero pitches sent by the AI
The Integrated Workforce, in One Morning
This is what I mean when I talk about an integrated workforce. It is not humans versus agents, and it is not agents replacing people. It is a clean split of the work. The agent supports: it researches, verifies and keeps the pipeline current. The human connects: he builds the relationships that actually get him booked.
If you are an owner who keeps meaning to get on more stages and shows, the research is probably what is stopping you. That is the part you do not have to do yourself anymore.
